How Did You Become Involved In The Marine Industry? 

I grew up on local East Tennessee waters and first left to join the Marine Corps and serve as a Recon Marine. When I returned to East Tennessee in the late ’90s, I got a job at a barge terminal loading and unloading barges and moving barges in our harbor. I worked part-time as a commercial raft guide for 6 years.

How Did You Transition Into Owning Your Own Sea Tow Franchise?

In 2003, I took the plunge and struck out on my own. I purchased a Sea Tow franchise in East Tennessee, covering Fort Loudon and Tellico Lakes. We provided help for disabled boaters on a 24-hour basis, recovered vessels that had sunk or run aground, and did light commercial diving. 

We traveled as part of Sea Tow’s Disaster Recovery effort after Hurricanes Ivan, Katrina, and Rita. In 2007, a partner and I purchased Sea Tow Savannah/Hilton Head. Together, we managed four Sea Tow areas, serving recreational boaters in three states. It was a lifestyle. We were tied to a phone and a radio 24 hours a day, but it was never boring.

What Were Your Next Steps And How Did You Begin Working With Yachts360?

In 2012, I had an opportunity to leave Sea Tow and purchase a marine construction company. Never one to shy away from a challenge, I took the opportunity. So, for the next 12 years, we built the best docks on local waterways. I got to work with boaters to design and build their dream docks. Then, in 2023, a buyer came along for my company.

And now, after 26 years of making a living on the water, I have found a home alongside the best brokerage team in the industry. As a broker at Yachts 360, I get a chance to utilize my experiences from the last three decades to find the perfect boat for our clients.
