Mercury Racing has expanded its V-6 outboard engine lineup with the introduction of the 150R and 200R models at the Cannes Yachting Festival. These new engines are specifically tailored for smaller high-performance boats. Both engines are built on a 3.4-liter platform and are designed to run on 87-octane fuel, with the 200-hp model reaching up to 6,400 rpm and the 150-hp version maxing out at 6,000 rpm. The 200R also comes with two gearcase options, allowing it to be optimized for boats traveling at speeds ranging from 80 to over 100 mph.
Mercury Racing continues to enhance its outboard offerings by introducing these V-6 engines, addressing growing demand for performance-driven options across the boating industry. The company’s president, John Buelow, highlighted that this new release builds on the innovative momentum of their V-8 and V-10 models. Featuring advanced digital integration and industry-leading torque, these engines reflect Mercury Racing’s commitment to delivering top-tier performance, with products now ranging from 60 to 500 horsepower.
