A Legacy Built on Loyalty: The Story Behind an Unbeatable Father-Son Duo
This Father’s Day, we had the opportunity to sit down with one of our strongest team members in the South Florida market. Yachts360 broker Mario Galante shared his story of navigating his career under the wing of his father, Alberto Galante—an industry veteran with a long list of impressive accomplishments and a respected name throughout the boating world.
Together, the pair has become one of South Florida’s top-producing teams, representing buyers and sellers on countless transactions and most recently closing the sale of a 2013 Astondoa 72.
What was your first step in the industry?
“Working alongside my dad has been truly life-changing. From a very young age, I was fortunate to be immersed in the yacht industry. I attended every boat show I possibly could, listened to countless conversations, and watched deals come together long before I was ever involved in one myself. I sold my first yacht, a 72 foot motoryacht, when I was just 15 years old. ”
Remarkably being the vessel featured below – being sold for the second time by a repeat customer of Mario’s.
What’s the biggest lesson your father has taught you?
“The most important lesson he has taught me is loyalty. Loyalty to your clients, your word, and your relationships. He has always believed that being truthful, even when it’s difficult, is more important than making a quick sale. He taught me that if you genuinely put your clients’ best interests first, the business will take care of itself.”
What stood out most watching him work?
“I grew up listening to him negotiate deals, solve problems, and go above and beyond in ways most brokers wouldn’t. Whether it meant taking a late-night call, helping with something outside the scope of the transaction, or simply being honest when it wasn’t the easiest option, he always put people first and that was the biggest lesson I could learn.”
What does it mean to work alongside him today?
“By the time I worked on my first deal, I felt like I already had years of experience just from watching and learning from him. Even today, I continue to learn something new every day working alongside him. Beyond the yacht business, he’s taught me the value of hard work, integrity, loyalty, and treating people the right way. Having the opportunity to learn from him has been one of the greatest privileges of my life.”
This Father’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate Alberto and Mario Galante and the values that continue to make them one of South Florida’s strongest teams.
